Welcome Letter From Our Principal
2018 - 2019
Dear Robert W. Carbonaro Families,
It is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome you to the Robert W. Carbonaro learning community! It is my privilege to be the Principal of the Robert W. Carbonaro School. Our school consists of students and stakeholders of strong character and determination. Our learning community, staff and I are dedicated to providing a nurturing, yet challenging environment. The success of our students will be achieved through a rigorous curriculum, targeted instruction, and freedom to explore problem-solving strategies.
The Robert W. Carbonaro School brings together an extraordinary group of professional instructors and staff. Our goal is inspire our students and cultivate a desire for academic growth. The Carbonaro staff continuously engages in professional development and personal reflection to enhance their skillful implementation of instructional strategies and character development.
The Valley Stream UFSD 24 School Board and district administration provide critical support and leadership to the Robert W. Carbonaro School. Their service and dedication to our students is invaluable and steadfast.
Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a key stakeholder for our learning community. The Carbonaro PTA provides support and opportunities for our students. Together we are able to enhance the educational experience of all our students. The partnership is a vital in securing educational opportunities through Cultural Arts, fundraising, shared-decision, family events, and Parents As Reading Partners (PARP). The strength of our PTA is made possible by many families coming together to lend a helping hand, volunteer time, and take on events for the benefit of our children.
I am looking forward to a continued strong parent involvement for this upcoming school year. I invite you to be active members in our PTA, attend school-wide events, communicate openly with our teachers and myself, and enforce the concept of diligent work. Together we need to set our student, staff, and administration’s expectations to high levels in order to achieve excellence.
Rosario M. Iacono
